Blog 2 - Maus

After Artie put in the comic "Prisoner on the Hell Planet" some things in the book started to come together in my head.  It showed that Artie did have some pretty serious problems in my mind.  He seems to blame his parents a lot for his problems.  Because of that he has a pretty poor relationship with his father.  There are pretty major hints of this throughout the story and he doesnt seem to able to explain these at all except in his comics.  I believe that this also had a lot to do with the reason he wrote this story.  I think he really liked and respected his father but maybe didnt always feel loved by him.  However, I think his father was showing him love just it was the only way he knew how.

Me

Hi everyone, my name is Hoss Washington.  I am a sophomore at Shippensburg University.  I was born and raised in the great state of New Jersey.  I don't really have too many hobbies.  When I'm at home I pretty much just do a lot of work.  In the day time I deliver hay and chop wood and at night I am a machinist working the night shift for Townsend Machine.  When I don't work however I do have some fun.  My major is history secondary education and my minor is coaching.  This class seemed a bit more interesting then a regular english class and thats why I chose it.  The last book I read was called Cross Country by James Patterson.  I believe cultural diversity is spreading faster than it ever has today and I would say that is because of the internet.  I would say cultural diversity is the spread or understanding others' cultures.  In this class I think that we will learn about some interesting literature from cultures that aren't mine.
